1. About these terms
These terms set out the basis on which you may use this website and the terms that apply when you buy from us, have your scooter serviced or repaired, rent from us, or join one of our community rides. By using this website or dealing with us, you accept these terms.
Separate terms apply to rental. Please read the rental terms, which form part of these terms for any rental. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data.
If you do not accept these terms, please do not use this website. Nothing here affects rights you have under Malaysian law that cannot be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the Sale of Goods Act 1957.

- copy, republish or resell the content, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission;
- collect content by automated means, including scraping, crawling for reuse, or bulk downloading;

We may suspend or withdraw access to the website, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe it is being misused.
5. Information on this website
We take care with the catalogue, but specifications come from manufacturers and suppliers, and models change. Prices, stock, specifications and photographs are shown for information and are not an offer to sell. Photographs are illustrative, and colours and accessories can differ between production batches.
We may correct errors in prices or descriptions at any time, including after you have enquired. Please confirm the current price, the exact model and availability with us before you rely on them. Guides and articles on this website are general information, not advice for your particular scooter.
6. Contacting us and WhatsApp
Most enquiries reach us on WhatsApp. We reply during business hours and cannot guarantee a response time. Messages, photographs and videos you send become part of the service record for your scooter, and we use them as described in our Privacy Notice.
Please do not send payment card numbers, passwords, or copies of identity documents over chat unless we ask for a specific document for a specific purpose, such as a rental.
7. Buying a scooter
This website does not take orders or payments. A sale is agreed when we confirm with you the model, the price, and availability, whether in person or in writing. Until then, a quotation or a message is an invitation for you to deal with us, not a binding contract.
Quotations are valid for the period we state, or where we state none, for 7 days, and remain subject to stock. Where an item has to be ordered in, we will tell you the expected timing and any deposit before you commit.
8. Prices and payment
We tell you the total price payable, including any tax that applies, before you pay. Payment methods are confirmed at the time of sale. Goods remain our property until we receive payment in full; risk in the goods passes to you when you take possession.
Where we hold a deposit, we will tell you in writing what it covers and the basis on which it is refundable.
9. Collection, delivery and inspection
Collection and delivery are arranged with you case by case, and any charge is agreed before delivery. Please inspect the scooter on handover. Tell us immediately if anything is missing, damaged or not what you agreed, so we can put it right.
10. Cancellation, returns and refunds
Your statutory rights come first: if goods are not of acceptable quality, do not match their description, or are not fit for a purpose you told us about, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the Sale of Goods Act 1957.
Outside those rights, whether an order can be cancelled or an item returned depends on what we agreed with you, the condition of the item, and whether it was ordered in or customised for you. We will confirm the position in writing before you pay wherever an order cannot be cancelled. Items returned by agreement should be unused, complete, and in their original packaging.
11. Warranty
New personal electric vehicles and batteries carry a 1 year standard warranty. Selected spare parts, such as motors and controllers, carry 6 months. Warranty periods run from the date of purchase, and cover depends on the model and on the condition of the scooter when we inspect it.
Warranty cover does not extend to:
- accident damage, impact, water damage, or damage from riding in flood conditions;
- misuse, overloading beyond the rated rider weight, stunts, racing, or off-road use where the scooter is not built for it;
- normal wear to consumable parts, such as tyres, brake pads and grips;
- work, parts or modifications carried out by anyone else, including battery or controller changes;
- neglect of routine maintenance, or charging with a charger we did not supply or approve.
A warranty claim needs proof of purchase and an inspection by us. Batteries lose capacity with use and charge cycles; gradual capacity loss is normal and is not in itself a fault. Warranty cover is in addition to your statutory rights, not instead of them.
12. Servicing and repairs
We repair scooters whether or not you bought them from us. Diagnosis comes first: repair time and the quotation are confirmed after we have the model, the symptoms, photographs or a short video, and after we inspect the scooter. We ask for your approval before carrying out chargeable work, and we will contact you again if the work turns out to need more than we quoted.
Some parts are not available for every model or have to be ordered in, which affects timing. Where a repair is not economical, we will tell you rather than proceed. Replaced parts are disposed of unless you ask for them back when you approve the work.
Please back up and remove anything personal from an accessory or device before leaving it with us, and tell us about any known fault, previous repair, or modification, particularly to the battery or controller. When your scooter is ready we will contact you to arrange collection, and we will agree with you what happens if it cannot be collected for a long period.
13. Rental
Rental has its own agreement: please read the rental terms. Renters must be 18 or older. A completed rental form and payment confirmation are required before we hand a scooter over, and a refundable security deposit applies. The version of the rental agreement you accept when you submit the rental form governs your rental.
14. Community rides
Our community rides are informal, free to join, and are not a training course, a tour, or a supervised activity. You take part at your own risk and remain responsible for yourself, your scooter and your compliance with the law.
- Wear a helmet, and ride within your ability and within the rules that apply where the ride goes.
- Check your brakes, tyres, battery and lights before you set off.
- Riders under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian who takes responsibility for them.
- We may ask anyone to leave a ride if their riding puts others at risk.
- Photographs and video are sometimes taken at rides. Tell us if you would rather not appear.
15. Material you send us
When you send us photographs, videos or written descriptions, you confirm that they are yours to send. We use them to diagnose and record work on your scooter. We only use them publicly, including for marketing, if you give us separate permission.
16. Intellectual property
The content on this website is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other rights. The Dr Scooter name and logo are ours. Manufacturer names, model names and product photographs belong to their owners and are used to describe the products we sell and service.
You may share a link to any page. You may print or download extracts for your own use. Any other use needs our written permission.
17. Links and third-party services
This website links to services we do not control, including WhatsApp, Google Forms, Google Maps and social media. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or their availability.
18. Availability of the website
We provide the website free of charge and as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
19. Safety
Riding a personal electric vehicle carries risk. Ride within the law and within any rules that apply to where you are riding, including any restrictions set by the local authority. Wear protective equipment, keep your scooter maintained, and do not ride a scooter you know to be faulty. Nothing on this website is a promise that a particular scooter may lawfully be ridden in a particular place.
20. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under Malaysian law, including your rights as a consumer.
Subject to that:
- we are not liable for loss that arises from relying on information on this website rather than on what we confirm to you directly;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of income, loss of use, or loss of data;
- we are not liable for delay or failure caused by a supplier's stock, a manufacturer's warranty decision, or anything outside our reasonable control;
- where we are liable for a scooter or a repair, our liability is limited to repairing or replacing the item, or refunding what you paid for it.
21. Your responsibility to us
If you misuse the website, break these terms, or use a scooter in a way that breaks the law, you are responsible for any claim, loss or cost that results, including reasonable legal costs.
22. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for failing to perform where the cause is outside our reasonable control, including flood, fire, storm, accident, illness, industrial action, failure of utilities or communications, import delay, or an act of government. We will tell you as soon as we can and agree a new timetable with you.
23. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page, with the date shown at the top, is the one that applies to any new dealing between us. Changes do not affect a contract already agreed with you.
24. General
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- If we do not insist on something straight away, we do not lose the right to insist on it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our agreement. We may transfer ours if our business changes hands, and your rights will not be affected.
- These terms, together with the rental terms and the Privacy Notice where they apply, are the whole agreement between us about the website and about dealings made under them.
25. Complaints and disputes
Please tell us first: most problems are quickest to fix directly. Message us on WhatsApp at 011-2982 8599 or email hello@drscooter.my with what happened and what you would like us to do.
If we cannot resolve it, a consumer may bring a claim to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia, which operates under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and hears claims up to RM50,000 that arise within three years. Otherwise, disputes are for the courts of Malaysia.
26. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
